PhotOle Photography is a Lancaster, PA–based photography studio specializing in professional headshots and commercial branding portraits, founded by Ole Hongvanthong.
Ole’s journey into photography began at Conestoga Valley High School, where he discovered his passion in an introductory photography class during his junior year. By his senior year, he was selected as a photo assistant, helping mentor other students and refine his technical skills.
After graduation, Ole began his professional career with a national photography studio in Harrisburg, PA, where he spent seven years mastering the craft. He advanced from photographer to photo trainer, and ultimately photo manager — gaining hands-on experience in studio operations, lighting, posing, and client experience.
In 2005, Ole launched PhotOle Photography in Brownstown/Ephrata, PA, building a reputation as a trusted wedding and event photographer. As demand grew, he expanded into downtown Lancaster, opening studio locations on Queen Street near the bus station, then above Chestnut Hill Cafe on Chestnut Street, and later at 108 West King Street near Fulton Theatre and Lancaster Central Market.

Over time, Ole transitioned from weddings to specializing in professional headshot photography and commercial branding portraits. Today, PhotOle Photography operates from 114 Chestnut Street in downtown Lancaster, next to Hamilton Watch Company and just behind Square One Coffee. The studio focuses on helping business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals elevate their image with clean, confident, and strategic visuals designed to strengthen personal brands and grow businesses.
A master portrait photographer and aspiring pit master, Ole creates visual styles and brand language that resonate with an ever-growing, ethnically diverse audience. For over 17 years, he has photographed individuals whose presence is undeniable in the Lancaster community — trailblazers making history, leaders creating impact, and subject matter experts shaping the future.
